چکیده
Background. Two species of water frogs, Pelophylax ridibundus and lessonae, their hybrid, kl. esculentus, are widespread in Ukraine. The purpose this study was to investigate the population structure various types hemiclonal systems (HPS) frogs formed due coexistence same territory. In Ukraine, a hybridization centre with spread triploid individuals hybrid nature has been identified. Triploid hybrids an intriguing research subject diverse hypotheses about origin role HPS. Outside Kharkiv Region, triploids not commonly found. our study, we describe initial findings specimens Lviv Region analyze genetic HPS where such were detected. Methods. total, 193 green collected between 2011 2015. Here present analysis which conducted using two microsatellite loci, Rrid059A RlCA1b5. A wide range software programs utilized for processing data, including GenePop 4.7.5, Micro-Checker NewHybrids 1.1. Results. Three identified: R-E type Perekalky Lake Pisochne, L-E Luky, R-E-L Nyzhankovychi, Velykyi Lyubin, Zhovtantsi Cholgyni. Additionally, mixed ploidy (diploids triploids) found Perekalky, Lyubin Zhovtantsi. Conclusions. Genetic diversity revealed variations number alleles per population. P. exhibited higher compared lessonae individuals, whereas showed intermediate diversity. Further investigations localities potential detected necessary assess survival reproductive determine all both marsh pool frogs.

Genetic diversity in water frog hybrids (Pelophylax esculentus) varies with population structure and geographic location.
Pelophylax esculentus is a hybridogenetic frog originating from matings between P. ridibundus (RR) and P. lessonae (LL). Typically, diploid hybrids (LR) live in sympatry with one of their parental species, upon which they depend for successful reproduction. In parts of their range, however, pure hybrid populations can be found. These hybrid populations have achieved reproductive independence fr...
متن کاملGamete production patterns, ploidy, and population genetics reveal evolutionary significant units in hybrid water frogs (Pelophylax esculentus)
The European water frog Pelophylax esculentus is a natural hybrid between P. lessonae (genotype LL) and P. ridibundus (RR). It reproduces through hybridogenesis, eliminating one parental genome from its germline and producing gametes containing the genome of the other parental species. According to previous studies, this elimination and transmission pattern is very diverse. In mixed populations...

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...
Genomic Sequencing of Ranaviruses Isolated from Edible Frogs (Pelophylax esculentus)
Ranaviruses were isolated from wild edible frogs (Pelophylax esculentus) during epizootics in Denmark and Italy. Phylogenomic analyses revealed that these isolates are closely related and belong to a clade of ranaviruses that includes the Andrias davidianus ranavirus (ADRV), common midwife toad ranavirus (CMTV), Testudo hermanni ranavirus (THRV), and pike-perch iridovirus (PPIV).
متن کاملExtensive mitochondrial heteroplasmy in hybrid water frog (Pelophylax spp.) populations from Southeast Europe
Water frogs of the genus Pelophylax (previous Rana) species have been much studied in Europe for their outstanding reproductive mechanism in which sympatric hybridization between genetically distinct parental species produces diverse genetic forms of viable hybrid animals. The most common hybrid is P. esculentus that carries the genomes of both parental species, P. ridibundus and P. lessonae, b...
